Hi!
About
Ludum Tremens
noun /ˈluː.dum ˈtrem.ənz/
A vibrant feeling of euphoria triggered by a flow state during the act of play. An individual experiencing Ludum Tremens may feel intense joy accompanied by severe time distortion, often unaware that several hours have passed in what feels like mere seconds.
Videogames can be many things. There are no rules about how to make them. Some of them rely on atmosphere, narrative, cinematography, nostalgia, or many other things.
Ludum Tremens is a curious independent studio with the goal of creating videogames that speak to our natural need to play. We focus on creating what can only be achieved in this particular medium: button-mashing, flow-inducing, time-distorting fun.
In our mission, we won’t limit ourselves to a particular budget, platform, monetization system, or genre.
We’re here to explore, to experiment, to have fun.
Kevin Sardà
I’ve been making games for about 15 years, working as a game designer, writer, narrative designer, and consultant on projects like RiME, The Knight Witch and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. During all that time I worked with teams of every size, but until recently I had never made a full game completely on my own.
After all these years in the industry, I decided to take the leap and start prototyping solo projects. I wanted to learn new skills like coding in order to experiment freely and try gameplay ideas that are sometimes hard to fit into bigger productions.
If you love games, enjoy discovering new and exciting ideas, and want to experience Ludum Tremens a bit more often, stick around and come with us on this journey.
Momo
Moral support
Momo came into our life 4 years ago. Just like the character with the same name in Michael Ende’s book, her mission is to make sure that we don’t turn into Men in Gray.
From her, I learned many things, including the fact that she needs to play to be healthy and happy, as much as sleeping or eating.
Some people say that playing makes us human. Momo says that’s what makes us alive!
